The First Aid and pharmacy, are situated in the hospital ‘Spaarne Gasthuis’, just 10 minutes by foot.

If guests wish to receive visitors, they should register at the reception for fire/safety reasons.
It is not allowed to receive visitors in your room after 22.00 PM. For all rooms and suites, a maximum of visitors is allowed.
The entire building is equipped with smoke detectors. If you notice a fire, please follow these steps:
1 Report the fire.
- Press the manual fire alarm and call 888.
- Report: Who you are, what is on fire, where it is on fire and if people are in danger.
2 Warn people in the area.
3 Extinguish if possible (follow the instructions on the extinguisher)Please note; your own safety first!
4 Close the doors and windows.
5 Do not use the elevator, only the stairs.
6 Make sure everyone is safe.
7 Go to the reception.
Hotel guests can use the computers in the hotel lobby for free.
At the reception desk, a first aid kit and AED are available.
It is possible to rent bicycles at the reception desk.
We have electric and 7 gear bicycles.

You can use the bicycle throughout the day.
We kindly ask you to return the keys before 12.00 AM and to place the bicycle in the cycle shed.
You will find a soda vending machine as well as a product vending machine in the hotel lobby.
Found objects will be kept for 1 year by our Facility department, according to the Conditions of the Dutch Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Cafes.

Pets are not allowed in the hotel. If we observe any animals in the room an amount of € 75, - will be charged for cleaning costs.
The entire hotel is equipped with free wireless Internet. Use of the wireless internet (WIFI) is free of charge. You connect with the network ‘Hotel Haarlem’ and a password will not be needed.
Because of fire safety it is not allowed to burn candles and/or incense in your room.
The safe is situated in the closet in your room. On the front side, you will see the manual for using the safe. Do not leave money or other valuables unattended in your room. Hotel Haarlem is not responsible for loss or theft of personal belongings.

The car park of our hotel, provides plenty of places which are free of charge for all of our guests.
You can receive a free map of Haarlem and Amsterdam at the reception.
If you have mail that you want to send, you can hand it in at the reception. It is also possible to have your mail franked.
At the reception desk, we are available 24 hours a day. During the night, the reception desk is staffed by a night receptionist. Between 23.00 PM and 06.00 AM, the main entrance will be closed. You can use your room key to get in. Guests that do not have a room, will have to use the intercom next to the door. The entrance of the side building will be closed between 10.00 PM and 07.00 AM. During these hours, you will have to use the main entrance.
The kitchen is open Monday to Friday from 06.00 AM to 11.00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 07.00 AM to 11.00 PM. In our restaurant, you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner. We advise you to book a table, to avoid any disappointment.
Our hotel has a smoke free policy. In the hotel rooms, as well as in the public areas, it is not allowed to smoke. It is not allowed to use a super smoker (or a similar replacement for cigarettes) within the hotel. Smoking is only allowed outside of the hotel. Guests are allowed to smoke on the terraces and balconies, however the door must be closed. If our Housekeeping and Security department conclude that there has been smoked in the room, guests face a penalty of € 150, -.
If our Housekeeping and Security department conclude that there has been smoked in the room, a cleaning fee of € 150 will be charged. This must be paid directly at the reception. It is strictly forbidden to switch off the fire detector or parts thereof or influence its operation. Upon finding this, you will be immediately removed from the hotel without refund of any charges paid.
On your television, you will find our room service menu. Room service is available from 12.00 PM until 10.30 PM. To order room service please contact the restaurant by dialing 840. A supplement will be charged.
We offer you the possibility to use the shuttle service from our hotel to the city of Haarlem.
Please ask for possibilities at the reception desk.
A maximum of 6 persons guests can be placed in our shuttle. The shuttle service is a request and therefore not always available.
The gym is located on the 5th floor, accessible by the elevators in the hotel lobby. Please bring your keycard to enter the gym. There are towels available.
Iron and ironing board are available in our hotel.

Check out time is before 12.00 PM. If you wish to extend your stay until 05:00 PM, an extra amount will be charged. You can check the availability for a late check out at the reception desk. To increase the safety of our guests and staff, Van der Valk Hotel Haarlem is equipped with a fire alarm system.
To ensure a good functioning of this system, without false alarms and unnecessary visits of the fire department, it is very important that you take the following into account:
In the closet of your room, you will find a laundry bag, as well as a form. You will need to fill this out and deliver this, together with your clothes at the reception desk. If you hand in the laundry bag at the reception desk before 08.00 AM, it will be returned in the afternoon.

Please inform the reception desk about our desired wake-up call. It is also possible to set an alarm on your television via the information button. Do not forget to leave your television on standby otherwise the alarm will not go off.
