  • Beds/cots

    It is possible to place an extra bed in a Comfort+ room. You can also request a baby crib for any room type. For further information and costs, please contact our reception.

  • Bicycles

    We have a number of 7-speed bicycles available. For inquiries or to reserve a bicycle, please visit the reception or call 999. You can use the bicycle for the entire day. We ask that you return the keys by midnight and place the bicycle back in the bike storage.

  • Breakfast

    The breakfast buffet is located in the restaurant.
    Monday to Friday: 6 A.M. – 10:30 A.M.
    Saturday and Sunday: 7 A.M. – 11 A.M.

    It is also possible to order breakfast in bed, for which room service charges will apply. You can request this the evening before at our reception.

  • Candles

    For fire safety reasons, it is not allowed to burn candles and/or incense in your hotel room.

  • Check out

    We kindly ask you to check out by 12 P.M. If you wish to stay longer in your room, this can be arranged based on availability and for an additional fee. Different rates and conditions apply for suites and family rooms. Please inquire at the reception for more information.

  • Complaints

    If you have any comments or complaints, please contact the reception. We will always strive to resolve your complaint immediately. You can also direct your comments or recommendations to

  • Computer

    As a hotel guest, you can use the computers in the lobby free of charge.

  • Defects

    If you encounter any issues in your hotel room, we kindly ask you to report them to the reception. Where possible, we will endeavor to address them as soon as possible.

  • Doctor/pharmacy

    The general practitioner, pharmacist, and hospital can be reached 24 hours a day via the reception at number 999. For urgent matters, you can reach the reception at number 888. The emergency room and pharmacy are located a 10-minute walk away at 'Spaarne Gasthuis'.

  • Do not disturb

    In your room, you will find the 'do not disturb' door hanger. If you do not wish to be disturbed, please hang it on the outside of the door. The housekeeping staff will then leave a bag with fresh towels outside your door.

  • Emergency/emergency exits

    In case of emergency, please contact the reception immediately at the emergency number 888. All emergency exits are clearly marked and also indicated on a map located on the door of your room. We advise you to familiarize yourself with the nearest emergency exit.

  • Fire safety

    The entire building is equipped with smoke detectors. If you detect a fire anywhere, follow these steps:
    1. Report the fire.
    - Activate the manual alarm and call 888.
    - Provide us with: Who you are, what is burning, where the fire is, and if anyone is in danger.
    2. Warn people in the vicinity.
    3. Extinguish if possible (follow the instructions on the extinguisher). Note: Your own safety comes first!
    4. Close doors and windows.
    5. Do not use the elevator, but take the stairs.
    6. Ensure everyone is safe.
    7. Report to reception.

  • First aid/AED

    There are first aid and AED kits available at the reception.

  • Green Choice/Orange Choice

    During your stay, your hotel room is typically cleaned daily as standard. However, when you opt for 'GreenChoice,' you are directly contributing to a better environment. Every time a guest chooses to skip room cleaning, a tree is planted in Scotland. With 'OrangeChoice,' we plant half a tree. This is part of the wider Trees4Next program by Valk Exclusief.

  • Hotelbar

    Discover our newly renovated bar, Birdy'sBar, on the third floor. Enjoy coziness, drinks, and delicious snacks during our generous opening hours. We look forward to welcoming you!

  • Internet

    Feel free to check your email or update your social media! Throughout the entire hotel, you can make use of complimentary wireless internet. All rooms are equipped with a fixed internet connection. You can connect to the wireless network named 'Hotel Haarlem' anywhere in the hotel using your phone, tablet, laptop, or other mobile devices. No access code or password is required. All rooms are also equipped with a fixed internet connection.

  • Laundry/dry cleaning

    In the closet of your room, you will find a laundry bag along with a corresponding laundry form. If you drop off your laundry at the reception before 8 A.M., you can expect to receive the cleaned laundry back on the same day. This service is available from Monday to Friday.   • Iron/ironing board

    If you wish to use an iron and ironing board, you can request them at the reception by calling 999. They will be brought to your room.

  • Lost & Found

    Have you lost something during your stay at Van der Valk Hotel Haarlem? No worries, we have an efficient system called 'iLost' for lost items. Recognize something of yours? You can pick it up directly at the reception or easily claim it via the website. Once you file a claim, we'll make sure the lost item gets back to you as soon as possible.   • Luggage storage

    It is possible to use the luggage storage at the reception. Van der Valk Hotel Haarlem is not liable for loss and/or damage to your belongings.

  • Mail

    If you have mail to send, you can drop it off at the reception. We also offer the service of postage for your mail; please note that charges may apply. If your mail already has a stamp, you can simply hand it in at the reception.

  • Map

    At the reception, you can receive a free map of Haarlem and Amsterdam.

  • Meeting rooms

  • Messages

    If there are any messages for you, we will inform you either by phone or in writing. For guest messages, please deliver them to the reception or call us at 999, and we will ensure they are properly delivered to the guest.

  • Parking

    When reserving a room, we hold it for you until 6 P.M. You have two options to confirm the reservation: you can prepay for the reservation via the payment link sent a few days before the reservation, or you can authorize a credit card to ensure that the room is guaranteed for your stay.

    If you wish to book a package, the terms of FLEX24 apply. This means that you must pay a deposit for your package 24 hours in advance, and cancellations are only possible up to 24 hours before the start, unlike the previous option until 6 P.M. on the day itself.

  • Pets

    Pets are NOT allowed in the hotel. If pets are found in the room, a cleaning fee of €75 will be charged. However, we are happy to make an exception for guide dogs and service dogs, as they are warmly welcomed.

  • Pillows/blankets

    You will find an extra pillow in the closet of your hotel room. Additional pillows and blankets are available upon request. Please contact the reception for assistance with this.

  • Reception

    At the reception, we are available 24 hours a day.
    During the night, the reception is staffed by a night receptionist. From 11 P.M. to 6 A.M., the main entrance will be closed, but you can still open the door with your room key. Guests without a room can use the intercom next to the entrance. The entrance to the annex is closed between 10 P.M. and 7 A.M. During these hours, you can enter through the main entrance.

  • Restaurant

    The restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 6 A.M. to 10 P.M., and on Saturday and Sunday from 7 A.M. to 10 P.M. Throughout the day, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the restaurant. We recommend making a table reservation through the reception to avoid disappointment.

  • Roomservice

    In your room, you will find a QR code for the Anna-call service to order room service. Scan this code to view the room service menu. Would you like something delivered to your room? Room service charges apply for this service. Please note that room service is available from 5 P.M. to avoid confusion.

  • Safe

    In the closet of your room, you will find a safe. The instructions for use are located on the front of the safe. Please do not leave money or other valuables unattended in your room. The management is not liable for the loss or theft of personal belongings.

  • Safety

    To enhance the safety of our guests and staff, Van der Valk Hotel Haarlem is equipped with a fire alarm system.
    To ensure the proper functioning of this system and prevent false alarms and unnecessary fire department responses, it is important to adhere to the following:
    - Smoking is not allowed inside the building. If caught, you will be fined.
    - Lighting candles and/or incense in your room is prohibited.
    - Creating open flames or setting off fireworks is not allowed.
    - The use of smoke machines or similar devices is strictly prohibited.
    - It is strictly forbidden to disable the system or any of its components, or to interfere with its operation. If found doing so, you will be immediately removed from the hotel without any refund of payments/deposits.

  • Smoking

    Van der Valk Hotel Haarlem is a smoke-free hotel. Smoking is not permitted in the rooms or in the public areas. The use of e-cigarettes or vaping devices is also prohibited. Smoking is only allowed outside the hotel. If you smoke on the balcony, please ensure the balcony door is closed.

  • Smoking in the room detected

    If smoking is detected in the room, a cleaning fee of €150 will be charged. This fee must be paid immediately at the reception. It is strictly prohibited to disable the fire alarm or any of its components, or to interfere with its operation. If found doing so, you will be immediately removed from the hotel without any refund of payments.

  • Sports facilities

    When you take the elevator to the 5th floor at the reception, you will find the fitness room. Please bring your room key for access. Towels are provided here. Take a look at our fitness facilities.

  • Swimming pool

    Behind the hotel, you'll find the 'Boerhaave' swimming pool. Inquire at the reception for opening hours. You can also purchase discounted entrance tickets here.

  • Taxi

    If you wish to use a taxi, please inform the reception. They will be happy to reserve one for you.

    If you're on the go or just craving a quick snack, we have the solution for you. In our To Go Shop, you're provided with all conveniences. From savory snacks to books, from drinks to practical items like chargers, we have something for every need. And the best part? Everything is ready to take with you right away.

  • Toiletries

    Did you forget your toothbrush or razor? These are available free of charge at the reception desk. In out To Go Shop machine in the hotel lobby, we also sell various toiletries.

    Visits after 10 P.M. are not allowed; each room type has a maximum number of guests. Exceeding this limit may result in actions taken by Van der Valk Hotel Haarlem.

  • Wake-up call

    Please contact the reception and provide your desired wake-up time. It is also possible to set an alarm on your television using the information button. Please ensure that you leave the television on standby, otherwise, the alarm will not go off.
